Position Title: e-Commerce Expert

Work Location: Ministry of Commerce, Islamabad

Total Number of Openings: 1

Contract Period: 2 years

Monthly Salary: 400000 PKR

Age Limit: 25-55 years

The remuneration of the position with an expiring contract of two years is reasonable and amounts to four hundred thousand PKR per month, and the added incentive is that one will be involved in the National e-Commerce Strategy. The position is diversifying with various components such as strategy formulation, marketing or promotion, and chain management to enhance the digital economy in Pakistan as envisaged.

Key Responsibilities

You will be able to look for more specific tasks of the e-Commerce Expert in the Terms of Reference (TORs) on the respective Ministry website. In any case, the scope of the position shall include the:

1. Formulation and Implementation of E-commerce Development Strategies: Formulate and execute strategies for the development of Digital Commerce in Pakistan.
2. Execution and Development of Activities in the Area of Digital Marketing, Branding, and Advertisement of Online Businesses: Assist online businesses in marketing their products and or services to a wider audience through appropriate digital marketing practices.
3. Supply Chain Management: Integrate appropriate supply chain management practices to improve the efficiency of e-commerce activities.
4. Promotion of Digital Trade: Examine and propose how new and relevant forms of e-commerce could be integrated into Pakistan’s economy.
5. Advocacy to Policy Makers: Advise on relevant policies that shape the e-commerce ecosystem to enable more business growth and support advanced technologies.

Eligibility Requirements

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in business administration, e-Commerce, Digital Economy, Supply Chain Management or Digital Marketing

Relevant Experience:

• Graduates with 7 years or more involvement in e-commerce business. Practical work experience in the areas of e-commerce business, e-commerce and/or supply chain management is a bonus.

The ideal candidate should be an experienced person with a combination of acquired experience, know-how, and knowledge of e-commerce principles.
